Details of the original alert: Flooding caused by two recent storms continued to make life a misery in parts of nine northern and northeastern provinces on Monday.<br />The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation reported that flooding caused by heavy rain from former storm Kajiki remained in Chiang Mai, Mae Hong Son, Phitsanulok and Sukhothai provinces, where 5,716 people were affected.<br />Search and rescue teams were still looking for two people missing after a landslide in Mae Chaem district of Chiang Mai on Aug 27. The landslide killed seven people, injured 15 others and damaged 157 houses.<br />In Mae Hong Son, rescue teams were searching for a woman swept away by runoff in Muang district on Aug 26. The floodwater subsided but three bridges were destroyed in tambon Hua Pong and tambon Pha Bong of Muang district. Bailey bridges were installed at two locations.<br />In Phitsanulok, officials were surveying areas damaged by floodwater and distributing assistance to victims as the Yom River was rising. Flooding continued in Chat Trakan, Noen Maprang and Wang Thong districts.<br />In Sukhothai, flooding also resulted from the overflowing Yom River and affected 1,365 people. The river level was declining there.<br />The department said that the impact of former storm Nongfa was found in five provinces - Lampang, Kalasin, Khon Kaen, Nong Bua Lam Phu and Phetchabun - where 3,197 people were affected. Flooding and landslides happened in the provinces on Sunday.<br />In Lampang, floodwater levels were declining in Mae Phrik district and rescue workers were distributing aid to victims.<br />In Phetchabun, the Pa Sak River overflowed into Lom Kao, Lom Sak and Nam Nao districts and it was rising.<br />In Kalasin, people suffered impacts from floods and landslides on Sunday in six districts - Huai Phung, Khao Wong, Kuchinarai, Na Khu, Na Mon and Somdet. Flood levels were subsiding on Monday.<br />In Nong Bua Lam Phu, run-offs hit Muang, Na Wang, Nong Sang, Sri Bun Ruang and Suwannakhuha districts and affected 315 people. Flood levels were rising due to persistent rain.<br />In Khon Kaen, runoff affected 559 people in Ban Phai, Chum Phae, Nam Phong, Phu Pha Man and Si Chomphu districts. Flood levels were rising.
